Unique leathers from the Conceria Il Ponte tannery

Where family tradition and craftsmanship go hand in hand
Between the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the imposing Renaissance buildings of Florence lies the village of Ponte a Cappiano, quietly tucked away in the rolling Tuscan hills. The bridge (Il Ponte) that the famous Medici family built after a Florentine design gives away the location of the Il Ponte tannery, at home in this village since 1961. Just like the bridge, the tannery moves effortlessly between old and new. Leather from the Il Ponte tannery is vegetable tanned with passion, driven by family tradition and shaped by true craftsmanship.

While embracing new techniques, Il Ponte keeps its rich family tradition and traditional craftsmanship alive in the production of its beautiful vegetable-tanned leathers. The collections are made using the same age-old methods as generations ago: with time, care and only natural extracts for the tanning process.
With leather from this tannery, you also have a 100% made in Italy product in your hands. As one of around nineteen tanneries in the region, Il Ponte holds the Consortium for Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather certificate, which guarantees the traditional, natural tanning and the leather's Italian origin. On top of that, the tannery is Gold-rated by the Leather Working Group, meaning the leather is produced under strictly controlled production processes.

We really believe in our vegetable tanned leather that was born from a story of love and passion that has been handed down for three generations. Leather is a unique product that lasts forever and is not affected by passing fashion. I'm proud that within the company that was founded by my grandfather we together as a family produce an article that is a mix between tradition and innovation and that is loved all over the world.
